grabajab

It's vital that EVERY adult in East Sussex has a chance to get vaccinated against the virus.

The government may lift Covid restrictions on 19 July if they think it's safe - and the more of us that have had the jab, the more likely that is to happen.

It's quick and easy to arrange your jab. Here's how you (or your loved ones) can get it done...

Walk-in vaccinations this week...

  • Wednesday to Friday (30 June-2 July), near entrance to Eastbourne Pier, Grand Parade, Eastbourne. 10am to 2.30pm and 3.30pm to 8pm.
For all adults - first doses only
  • Thursday 1 July. Lower Place car park, Lower Place, Newhaven. BN9 9FA. 11am to 4pm.
Astra Zeneca only, first and second doses.
  • Saturday 3 July. St Leonards Medical Centre, High Glades, Bexhill Road, St Leonards TN38 8BL  10.30am to 3.30pm.
    For all adults
  • Sunday 4 July. Hampden Park Surgery, 12 Brodrick Close, Eastbourne. BN22 9NQ 10am to 1pm.
For all adults - first doses only
  • Sunday 4 July.  St Matthew’s Church Hall, Off London Road, Hastings TN37 6PD. 12.30pm to 4.30pm.

There's no need to book for these sessions and you don't need to be registered with a GP. Simply turn up with some ID and your NHS number if you know it.

More information about where you can get vaccinated across Sussex is being added all the time to the local NHS site.

...or book your jab in advance.

Your GP service may have written to you or texted you to offer the chance to book a vaccination slot with them directly.

But you can book a local vaccination appointment at any time through the national booking site. There are vaccination centres in Brighton, Crawley, Eastbourne, Ore, Rye and Ticehurst among others.

If you've had your first jab, you are now invited to bring forward your second appointment to eight weeks from the first.

Bookings can be made and managed online or by calling 119.

If you've been vaccinated...

Thank you for doing what you can to keep you and those around you safe. Please encourage anyone you know who hasn't yet been vaccinated to get the jab.

And please remember that rules on social distance, gatherings and face coverings still apply for us all. You can rapid test yourself twice weekly to reassure yourself that you're not passing on the virus when you feel fine. If you do have symptoms, don't forget to isolate and book a PCR test through the national service.

We're all looking forward to Covid restrictions being eased - the best way to make that happen is for everyone in East Sussex to take precautions together.
